5.27.17 - Texas Tech recruit. Currently ranked No. 19 in Illinois’ 2017 class, No. 363 overall. 6-foot-4, 180-pound left-handed hitting outfielder, lean athletic build, high level of projection in the frame. Highly advanced, mature offensive approach. Hits from a slightly open setup, excellent pre-pitch rhythm and timing. Everything works smoothly and naturally. Relaxed, loose hands, present bat speed, excellent balance, barrel stays in the zone. Works all fields. Laced a left-on-left 90-mph fastball on the outer-half to left field for a single in the first, and drove a ball deep to center and walked. Should acquire more power as he continues to physically develop at the next level. Overall high-level left-handed bat.

8.1.16 - Transferred from Joliet Catholic Academy to Lemont HS over the summer heading into his senior year.

4.16.16 - Texas Tech recruit, currently ranked No. 13 in Illinois’ 2017 class, No. 101 overall. 6-foot-4, 180-pound frame, long, lean and highly projectable. Premium left-handed bat, arguably the best in Illinois’ 2017 class, and he proved it during the game. Went 3-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run, three RBI, three runs scored, a walk and reached base all five at-bats in Game 1 of doubleheader. Two of his hits were squared up the middle, including a back-spinned line drive to dead centerfield that kept carrying. What looked like an easy standup triple ended up being a two-run inside-the-parker. Hits from a relaxed, open, athletic setup, quiet mechanics, confident approach. (Also singled sharply up the middle in his first at-bat of Game 2). Advanced timing and rhythm in box. Athletic lower half, shorter stride, repeatable swing with easy bat speed; loose hands, bat stays flat through the zone, high-level of barrel awareness. Maintains excellent balance throughout swing, stays through ball with extension; takes pitches well. With his frame and swing path, gap shots should turn into home runs as he naturally fills into his frame. Previously has worked out at third base at past showcases, started in right field for Joliet Catholic. Likely profiles as corner outfielder or first baseman down road, though has the requisite skills to play third. Fluid strider, ran a 6.93 60 at the PBR Preseason All-State Showcase in February.

2.14.16 - Texas Tech commit. Long projectable frame, lean athlete, 6-foot-4, 180-pound third baseman. Profiles as a premium left-handed bat at a corner position. Hits from a tall, slightly open setup, short stride to even, quiet in the box, excellent presence and balance. Easy bat speed, advanced approach, gap to gap hitter with loose hands and excellent barrel awareness. 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed much improved arm action, release is clean and more efficient, showed carry at 82 mph across. 7.20 runner. Hands played for third base, average body control, solid range. Possible 2017 draft follow.
Future Games 2015 - Simonich entered the Future Games as one of the more projectable bats in attendance for Team Illinois. His long thin frame projects well at 6-foot-3, 175-pounds. Hitting from the left side, Simonich has a pretty swing that features easy hand speed and a power potential when he fills out. He hits from a tall setup with short stride, staying balanced all through contact. His bat didn’t produce much in game play over the weekend but his BP sessions showed the ability to consistently barrel baseballs to all fields. Defensively his position isn’t clear cut, he shows the ability to play any of the corner spots either in the outfield or infield, most likely his arm and foot speed will be the determining factors. Currently his arm action is loose and highly accurate which will play from likely anywhere (81 mph across the diamond, 84 mph from the outfield). His hands and lateral action are suitable for third base making him a well above average first baseman and his 60 time (6.93) should give him the tools at either corner outfield spot. Either way Simonich’s bat will be his calling card, and a left-handed bat is always in need.

3.20.15 - 6-foot-3, 165-pound long and lanky left-handed hitting LF/1B ranked No. 11 in Illinios’ 2017 class, No. 86 overall, elite underclass prospect with bat, possibly best pure hitter in Illinois’ 2017 class. Hits in 3-hole as a sophomore for Hilltoppers, hits from a tall, narrow, open setup, some length to stride, widens out base, gets foot down early, on time, relaxed in box, hands held high, load back smoothly, short, slightly uphill bat path, fluidity to swing, barrel whips through the zone, high finish. Singled hard up the middle to left of second baseman with line drive in first at bat on a 2-0 85 mph fastball. Doesn’t get cheated, RBI double down first base line in second at bat. Took pre-game in left field at first base, arm strength will play at infield corners or outfield corners, frame should carry 195-200 pounds easy in three years, already possesses gap-to-gap power, capable of leaving the yard to pull side, added weight/strength to frame could make him top hitter in Illinois in next three years.
1.18.15 - 6-foot-3, 165-pound lanky and athletic left-handed hitting third baseman currently ranked No. 11 in Illinois’ 2017 class, may be the top pure hitter in the class. Hits from a tall, open setup, short stride, hands load smoothly, loose wrists, bat whips through the zone, short, level bat path, fluid throughout, drove line drives from gap-to-gap, 74 mph exit velocity off the tee. Defensively, threw 79 mph across the diamond from short, loose, high ¾ arm slot with accuracy and carry across the diamond. Athletically fields position, pats glove after fielding lengthening exchange, solid on body control ball. Ran a 7.26 60. Simonich is one of the top prospects in the 2017 class and has plenty of room for projection in his lanky frame.
7/14/14 - Long thin frame, highly projectable, slender build, 6-foot-3, 160-pound left-handed hitting third baseman. Offensively hits from the left side, open stance, smooth loading action, short stride back to square, advanced setup, quiet and athletic, maintains strong balance through contact. Hits with excellent rhythm, advanced feel in the box, has a presence, loose hands, excellent path, advanced swing, high level projection at the plate. Advanced present bat speed, line drive, slight pull side approach, impacts with authority. Defensively plays with a longer arm action, some looseness, showed accuracy, 74 mph across the diamond. Simonich is a high follow in the class of 2017, his frame and bat have a huge ceiling that will be the attention of many over the next several years.

Fall '18: Committed to New Orleans out of NW Florida State

10/31/18:
6-foot-3, 195-pound left-handed hitting outfielder, lanky, athletic, projectable frame, lean muscle. Continues to perform as a top of the oder bat. Has the ability to hit to all fields, with power to the middle/pull, shown more line drive contact to the opposite field. Makes contact consistently, in five at-bats over the weekend, drew two walks and hit a two-run ground rule double. High follow athletic bat.

10-9-186-foot-3, 185-pound left-handed outfielder, athletically-built. Three-hole hitter, pull-side approach, ability to hit for power, squared the ball up consistently. Barrel path has some natural lift, at-times remains level through the zone. Hands are athletic, some quick-twitch.
