Air Force commit. Currently ranked No. 34 in the state. Strong-bodied, 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame with some physicality throughout. Got the start on the mound and struck out 14 over 5.2 innings, allowing only one run. Athletic mover for size, loose and flexible, gains easy ground downhill, delivers his arsenal from a ¾ release with a clean path. Heavy dose of fastballs, cruised around 85-88 mph, flashed hard arm-side life, worked the whole zone. Flashed a 1/7 curveball at 66-69 mph, slight decel, big-breaking with some depth.

Air Force Commit. Holst had an impressive performance in their win over Zion, throwing a complete game with 17 strikeouts, two walks and one hit allowed. In his last five games, he’s hitting .538 (7-for-13) with one home run, two triples, two doubles, eight RBIs and five runs scored.

Verbally committed to Air Force.

PBR Future Games: LHP Joshua Holst (Libertyville, 2025) really looks the part in a uniform, standing at a strong, well-proportioned 6-foot-2, 205-pounds. Holst, who toed the rubber for Team Illinois twice at the event, moves down the mound well for his stature. His fastball played in the low-to-mid-80s, touching 87 mph in his first outing, and he spotted a curveball/changeup mix around the zone to change paces.

Uncommitted, 6-foot-2, 205-pound, broad-shouldered, physical, left/left first baseman. Most notably known for his ability on the mound but he showed well hitting out of the five-hole and playing first base on this day. Presence to his overall game. Confident, physical tone in the box. Aggressive swings, present bat strength and looks to drive the baseball with authority from gap-to-gap. Finished 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Drove a pitch down and in, into the opposite field gap (into the wind) for a double and one of the hardest hit balls on the day. Impressive frame and skill set for a sophomore.

Uncommitted. Ranked No. 41 in the state of Illinois. A 6-foot-2, 205-pound left-handed pitcher with a strong lower half. Holst got his fourth start of the season against Lake Forest, tossing a complete game one hitter with 11 strikeouts and one earned run. The no-hitter was carried into the top of the seventh inning. Working with a quick pace, Holst starts staggered to home, the shoulders close off to home, a quick balance point, with a closed footstrike to home. The arm works out of a long, loose action with a 3/4 arm slot. Filling the zone with a four seam fastball to get ahead of the hitters, sat 83-85 mph early and topped at 86 mph before settling at 82-83 mph later in the outing. Backing the fastball was a changeup that plays similar to the fastball held 74-75 mph and a slider with 2/8 plane that comes from the same slot as the fastball, played at 67-69 mph. Holst has struck out 22 batters in 18 innings with a 1.667 WHIP and a .209 batting average against. An uncommitted sophomore to keep an eye out for as he continues to improve on the mound and be a top pitcher in the class.

Holst catches your eye immediately with his 6-foot-2, 205-pound, hulking, physical build, which is made even more impressive by the way he moves down the mound. Holst is highly-athletic down the mound working with smooth tempo, staying on-line, repeating and filling up the strike zone with his fastball (80% clip) that sat 85.7-87.8 mph with an average of 16.9 inches of induced vertical break and 13.3 inches of horizontal movement. He complimented the fastball with two above-average offerings in a sweeping slider at 71.6-72.6 mph and a changeup that is thrown with intent and showed above-average feel at the bottom of the zone. Has a chance to be a high-level left-handed arm in the class.

FB: T88, 86-87 mph. Filled up the zone, worked mostly straight, and jumped out of the hand. T2208, 2151 average rpm.
SL: 72-73 mph. Maintains arm speed, 2/8 shape, horizontal action, feel. T1978, 1966 average rpm.
CH: 78-79 mph. Fastball arm speed, kills spin, advanced feel at the bottom of the zone, slight fade. T1401, 1353 average rpm.

6-foot-2, 190-pounds, big muscular lefty. Clean-up type hitter, slightly open stance, smooth load and weight transfer. Has the ability to use the whole field and adjust to low pitches, is disciplined at the plate. In the semi-final game of the PBR at The Rock Championships, against Hitters, he went 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBI’s. On the mound works out of an over the top slot, long arm action. Fastball plays with feel, mostly straight four seam type, 73-75 mph. Curveball played soft at 55-57 mph, with depth and landed for strikes.

Long and lean frame at 6-foot, 175-pounds. Left-handed pitcher, clean, easy delivery. Low effort on a 67-69 mph fastball, comes out of the hand clean and with ease, ability to control with makings of late finish. Changeup played 62-63 mph, fade action. Showed curveball at 52 mph, 1/7 shape, some depth.
