5/12/14 - Northern Illinois commit. Ranked No. 86 in Illinois’ class of 2014. Hard-nosed third basemen. 6-foot, 180-pounds with solid, muscular lower half. 1-for-4 on the day with a two-strike, line drive RBI single over short in last at bat. Went down and got a quality 2 strike, 73 mph breaking ball. Used legs in swing, minimal stride, picks up front foot and puts it down. Jammed in first at bat with 86 on the inner half, dropped back shoulder on a flyout to left, and infield flyout to first. Defensively, solid infield actions, stayed down on a couple tough hops. Fields ball out front, buries head down on baseball even on hard hit balls.  Showed good range fielding a few foul balls down the line in game. Arm strength is average on backhand ball/long throw, gets rid of the ball quickly, good carry to first. Clocked at 80 mph across the infield at previous events. Both Boyle and Whelan pick and get rid of it as good as any prep infielder I’ve seen all year. Like Boyle, doesn’t overthrow baseball when he doesn’t need to.  Benet’s left side of the infield puts on an impressive pregame.
4/1/14 - Northern Illinois commit, ranked No. 86 in the state. High level offensive game, excellent approach at the plate. Showed the ability to use all fields. Works counts well, quality at bat guy, shown by his two strike sac fly to right field on pitch out over the plate, disciplined hitter. Showed opposite field pop as well. Projects as a hard contact hitter at the next level with occasional juice. Advanced defender as well, strong arm and can play on the move, has the ability to make the back hand play on the line.
6.13.13 - Sturdy frame, shows strength, 6-foot, 180-pound infielder. Defensively Boyle showed athletic actions, hands are soft, shows fluid footwork, exchange is quick, plays through the baseball well. Arm action is athletic, shows the ability to release the baseball on the move, 80 mph across the diamond. Offensively hits from an open stance, short stride trigger. Has a presence in the box, confident hitter, short bat path, hands work well and stay inside the ball. Line drive approach with some gap to gap tendencies. Committed to Northern Illinois.

4/22/13 Shows advanced hands defensively, soft feel, hands work quickly and fluidly in the field. Offensively has quick hands at the plate, above average bat speed, short quick bat path, showed gap pop to his pull side. Athletic runner.
