1/14/12 The wide-shouldered 6-foot-2, 205-pound Rubin was the best left-hander at the event, as his fastball consistently sat in the 86-87 range with some late life. Showing rhythm on the mound, Rubin looked natural and will continue to develop at the next level. Rubin also threw a 65-67 mph curveball, and a 73 mph changeup. With continued development of his secondary stuff, Rubin has the potential to be high-level left-handed pitcher.

Rubin is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound left-hander with wide shoulders and a strong base. Working from a high-3/4 arm slot, Rubin located his 84-85 mph fastball down in the zone for strikes. He stays tall and works downhill well. His 70-73 mph changeup demonstrated some fade, and he also threw a developing 68 mph curveball. With his size and clean arm action, Rubin is one of the more promising left-handed prospects in the class.
Rubin is a physical 6-foot-2, 205-pounder who looks to be one of the most promising left-handed prospects in the Class of 2012. Rubin has wide shoulders and a strong, athletic frame. His fastball sat at 85-86 mph, operating from a high 3/4 arm slot. Rubin showed polished mechanics and a feel for all three pitches. His curveball displayed some depth and was consistently dropped in for a strike. He also showed good arm action on his changeup, which looks to be a plus pitch. ................................................. A 6-foot-3, 200-pound left-handed pitcher, Rubin comes from a high ¾ arm slot. His smooth rhythm and fluid arm allows him to repeat his motion. Rubin’s fastball sat in the 83-85 mph range. He can then come at you with a changeup that has the same arm speed as his fastball, but is 10-mph slower and featured some sink. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound physical left-hander consistently threw in the low 80s touching 81. His best pitch was a 70 mph circle change with late fade.
