5.10.18 - Trinity College commit. 5-foot-11, 183-pound, right-handed pitcher, athletic frame. Started on the mound for the Mustangs and threw seven innings of one hit ball. The sole hit scored an unearned run in the first inning, however Crowley did not let another baserunner reach second base. Drop and drive delivery, sturdy balance point, directionally works towards first base side of the mound with a repeatable open landing. Short arm action, clean out front from a ¾ to high ¾ slot. Occasionally worked downhill with a quick pace and tempo, athletically fielded his position. Feel for a three-pitch mix, could throw any pitch in any count and struck out seven on the day. Fastball, run, tilt at times, spotted up regularly on the outer half, 79-82 mph, topped 83 mph. Changeup, best secondary offering, fastball arm speed, got multiple swings and misses, advanced feel, 73 mph. Curveball had depth and flashed sharp break, 11/5 shape, 68 mph. Also, hit third for Downers Grove South; finished 0-for-2 with a fielder’s choice.
