INF/RHP Callaghan O’Connor (Bishop McNamara, 2026; Notre Dame commit) continues to make strides as an exciting two-way prospect. O’Connor is listed at 6-foot-6, 195-pounds with long levers. Although he did not hop on the mound this weekend, O’Connor had a quality showing on both sides of the ball as a position player. The right-handed hitter controls his levers well throughout the swing, and stays through the ball well. While playing first-base, O’Connor showcased quality actions around the bag. Currently ranked No. 2 in the state, and No. 55 in the country.
Junior Futures Games: Starting the game on the mound was Callaghan O’Connor, who pitched four innings and finished with eight strikeouts and topped out at 86 mph. His arm is clean, loose, and projectable. His frame projects to throw in the high 90s one day.
At a highly projectable 6-foot-4, 185-pounds, O’Connor has all the makings of a top prospect in the Midwest’s 2026 class. Despite his large stature, O’Connor is an athletic mover while on the mound, showcasing clean, repeatable mechanics. He got his fastball up to 84 mph and sat anywhere from 80-83 that showed some late life through the zone, and mixed in a breaker that flashed a sharp 11/5 break. O’Connor impressed throughout his outing and should be a name to closely monitor as he starts his prep career.

Body: 6-4, 185-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Wide base with a closed front foot. Compact leg swing. Loose/long arms through contact, level path with easy pop to the whole field, intent to do damage.
Power: 89.1 max exit velocity, averaged 80 mph. 290’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 83 mph. Long and loose actions, arm works quick through release, carry, throws from multiple angles.
Defense: Projectible body, plays through with tempo, clean round, looks the part.
Run: 7.38 runner in the 60.
Positional Profile: RHP
Delivery: Controlled tempo, fluidity throughout, repeatable, tall and fall, lands on balance.
Arm Action: RH. Clean arm action, plays loose and quick from a high 3.4 slot.
FB: T86.2, 80.4-85.3 mph. Jumps out of the hand, life and finish through the zone, late run. T2115, 1970 average rpm.
CB: 64.3-66.3 mph. Thrown aggressively, tight spin, 12/6 shape. T1967, 1855 average rpm.
CH: 75.5-77.3 mph. Maintains fastball arm speed, feel for the zone, fade. T1780, 1664 average rpm.
RHP/INF Callaghan O’Connor (Bishop McNamara, 2026) has all the makings to be one of the top 2026 prospects in the Midwest. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound, long-levered two-way prospect controls his levers extremely well for his age, has an upside right-handed swing but it is his ability on the mound that presents the highest ceiling. O’Connor is polished and poised on the mound with an advanced three-pitch mix and a fastball that he ran up to 86 mph. O’Connor is one of the top 2026 prospects we have seen to-date in the state and should be a high-follow moving forward.
Lanky, high-waisted 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame; thin, long-limbed athlete. Brings extreme upside to the table on the mound, emerged as a high-follow in the state’s 2026 class from a pitching perspective. Overhead hand rock initiates a slight drop/drive type delivery, sits into back hip well and rides the slide downhill. Lead leg swings to footstrike, controls levers well given his age/size, stays in line to target. Loose, whippy arm action with some downward poke on the back side, finishes from a high ¾ window. Fastball sat anywhere from 77-82 mph throughout the weekend in his multiple pitching appearances. Velocity projects well; fastball comes out clean from his hand and will continue to add ticks as he gets older. Decelerates arm action and elevates arm slot when throwing his curveball, gradual downer action, played at 56-60 mph.
Position: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-foot-2, 170-pound lean athletic frame.
Hit: (RHH) Began in an athletic balanced stance with a smooth load, then used a short stride. Level finish, short level swing. Gap to gap line drive approach.
Power: 74 mph exit velocity.
Defense: (IF) Soft hands, fluid athletic footwork, clean exchange.
Arm: 67 mph infield velocity. Short arm action, high ¾ slot.
Speed: 8.00 (60-yard dash).
Pitching: Smooth tall-and-fall delivery. High ¾ arm angle, short arm action. Lands square, athletic finish.
FB: T80. 75-79 mph. Around the zone command, straight movement.
CB: 56-59 mph. Down in the zone, 12/6 movement.
CH: 65-67 mph. Arm side control, late sinking action.
