Extra large-framed, 6-foot-4, 235-pound switch-hitting catcher. Top catcher arm strength at the ProCase; plus (81 mph) with good carry and accuracy; true to bag. 1.93-2.01 pop times. Clean transfer, quick footwork. Good mobility and flexibility for size. More advanced swing from the left side with slight dive stride, but raw power from both sides is very similar. Looking to lift and pull, Calarco gets on-plane well from both sides with identical average time to contact of 0.15 seconds and very similar bat speed (LH 71.0 mph vs RH 69.6 mph).

Body: 6-foot-4, 232-pounds. Extra-large, physical, imposing frame.
Hit: SH. Tall, balanced quiet setup, smooth load and stays on balance.  Athletic, strong hands, repeatable swing, creates leverage and bat speed. Uphill path, extension through the zone, looks to lift and drive the baseball with authority. Uses the entire field.
Power: 103(R) 95(L) mph exit velocity from the tee. Advanced bat strength and power potential.
Arm: RH. C - 82 mph. Clean arm action, over-the-top slot; throws were consistently on the bag, plays true with late life.
Defense: 2.04-2.12 pop times. Flexible, low setup, sure hands. Clean out of the crouch, repeatable and directional.
Run: 7.38 runner in the 60. 

Northwestern commit. 6-foot-4, 205-pound left-handed hitting sophomore, athletic frame, present strength in lower half. Played shortstop for New Trier, ranked as a catcher, perhaps projects more in the outfield. Hit third, went 1-for-2 with a single and a walk. Calm pre-pitch, maintains balance through contact, presence in the box. Path has some length, strong hands, thinks middle of the field, extension through the hitting zone, present power potential as he continues to tack on to his already plus frame. High follow 2021 prospect.

9.16.18 - Currently ranked No. 14 in Illinois 2021 class. 6-foot-3, 185-pound, switch hitting catcher, well-proportioned, athletic frame, plays big. Sets up even, smooth load, short stride, more balance from the left side, occasional dive over plate. Smooth, uphill bat path, generates bat speed, strong hands, rhythm through contact. Hit a double form both sides of the plate. Drove a top spun double to the pull gap from the left side of the plate and flared a opposite field double from the right. Heavy footed runner. Defensively called a solid game, receives in rhythm, sticks pitches, cushioned most blocks. Quick transfer, long arm action, stabs up, ball comes out firm and true. Threw out a would be base stealer on a low fastball, 2.06 pop.

2.18.18 - 6-foot-3, 183-pound, catcher, highly-athletic frame with plenty of room for continued physical development. Emerged as a high-follow 2021 switch-hitting catcher. Has a high ceiling with the bat from both sides of the plate. Aggressive swing, attacks the baseball with ability to repeat, natural lift in swing and present bat speed. Makes a lot of hard contact works both gaps; 90 mph exit velocity from the right side and 89 mph from the left. Defensively, athletic actions, flexible behind the plate, strong wrists, soft hands. Quick out of the crouch, present arm strength; 76 mph from the crouch.  Long, over-the-top arm action, will only improve and quicken up release as arm action shortens. Pop times ranged from 1.94-2.05. 7.66 runner in the 60.

9.13.17 - 6-foot-3, 175-pound right-handed hitting catcher with a lanky, athletic frame. Room to add more strength. Showed advanced arm strength behind the plate. Pops ranged 2.11-2.18. Threw out a would be base stealer from his knees, 2.15 pop. Balanced setup with a wide base at the plate, uphill swing path, swings with intent.

2017 Junior Future Games - Long, athletic, switch hitting catcher. Offensively, right-handed, slightly open set-up, some length, uphill swing path, power, present bat speed. Left-handed, very similar to right-handed swing, slightly uphill path, bat speed, 88 mph exit velocity. Defensively, soft hands, moves fluidly for bigger frame,  has arm strength with carry, 73 mph throwing from crouch. Pop times ranged from 2.1-2.25 in between innings.

5.5.17 - Right-handed hitter with a tall, lean projectable frame. Offensively, present bat speed, displayed power potential with two long home runs. Hits from a slightly open setup. High follow 2021 hitter.
