Defensively, traditional catcher’s arm action, short and over-the-top, quick arm speed, throws are true, 77 from the crouch. Sits in his stance with his lower half at a 90 degree angle, keeps his back predominantly upright, clean on his exchanges and fluid with footwork, pop times ranged 2.05-2.26.

Lawrence has a good catchers frame at 6-foot, 190-pounds and is a sneaky athletic kid with good strength. He flashes power to all fields, almost driving a ball out the opposite way in Team Georgia’s game vs Team Carolina's. His exit velocity registered as high as 93 mph at the Future Games. Defensively Lawrence more than held his own with a pop time of 1.93 to 2.08. The scouts got a good look at what Lawrence has offer at the next level both at the plate and behind it. Lawrence definitely has good ability that will play well at the next level. Hunner was selected from a talented group that attended the PBR Georgia Underclass Games.
