Thompson is a lean 5-foot-11 154 pounds, boasting a wiry frame he should be able to add length and weight in the coming years. The 2024 prospect works quickly on the mound with an up-tempo windup and possesses a long arm that generates a lot of lay back before release. He lands balanced and strong, maximizing his extension fairly consistently. He touched 80 mph multiple times with the fastball that had arm side fade with a sweeping slurvish breaking ball that came across the plate generating his fair share of swings and misses.
Underclass Games
5-foot-11, 145-pound left-handed two-way prospect, athletically built, lean muscle, plenty of room and time for further physical development, ran a 7.39 laser-timed 60. On the mound, arm plays with some length on the back-side, continuous movement, accelerates quickly to a ¾ slot. Tall and fall delivery, works across the mound, lands square, finishes square to home. At-times plays through the ball, fields out front, approaches with short, quick steps, clean on transfers, moves well tracking the ball.
