Uncommitted. Sturdy 6’3” 205lb frame. Short, clean arm action that was consistently times up throughout his outing. Worked mostly 85-87 with the fastball, topping out at 88. Got plenty of carry on the pitch, causing batters to miss underneath of the barrel. The star of the show, however, was Novak’s curveball, which he threw in the 76-78 range with sharp 12/6 downward action. Novak’s feel for spin and pitchability make him a solid prospect in the 2025 class.

Uncommitted. This was the 2nd time getting to see Novak this spring, and has been impressive in both. Fastball velocity has ticked up, and carried 86-88 pretty much all game. He ran it up to 89 once, and after giving up 1 run in the first he settled in and did not give up another earned run all game. He found the curveball command in the 2nd, and could throw it at any time the rest of the game. It has a sharp, late break in the low to mid 70’s and would fool hitters when he would start it at the bottom of the zone, and let it break out of it.

Uncommitted. 6-foot-3 205-pounds. Novak came out attacking the zone, and did not let up the entire outing. He found the strike zone early in counts, and worked with a quick pace, controlling the game. He had a great feel for the curveball, throwing it in any count for strikes. He showed the ability to bury it for swing and miss, or land it for a strike early in the count. He sat mostly 86, and carried 11 strikeouts through 5.
