Lee Commit. Jewell came out of the gates with a bang working just as fast as he was recording outs. His tempo was fast and it matched the extremely fast tempo delivery that he exhibited and Jewell mixed in a 3 pitch mix arsenal: 83-88 FB, 77 CH, 74-75 SL. He threw strikes with all three from start to finish in his outing; the only negative was that Jewell seemed wear down a little due to the lack of rest time in between innings and the pace he worked going from 87-88 to sitting more in the 83-86 range at the end of his outing.

Jewell is an interesting medium framed arm with good athletic ability. He was a big part of the Winder rotation last Spring and looks to be more of the same in 2020. His fastball gets up into the upper 80's with life down in the zone, but his breaking ball has really come into its own and was a strong swing and miss pitch at the Deep South flashing a spin rate above 2800 which is elite in that regard. Jewell has good feel to pitch and is not done, as he is a young 2020 and is very athletic.

Have been a fan of Jewell since the State Playoffs last Spring. He is a medium-framed right-hander, with athletic, smooth actions on the mound. His fastball has been up to 88 mph with a feel to spin the ball. Jewell will be one to watch at the Upperclass Games in November.
