3/9/16 - 6-foot, 165 pound catcher with a lean very young projectable body. Good receiver with soft hands and instincts to frame. Showed an average ML arm throwing a runner out attempting to steal 2B. Pushes the bat a bit b ujt shows a good swing with a good approach for a young kid. Good looking young catcher that will continue to improve with physical maturity. Will continue to follow.
11/7/15- Aguila stands at 5-foot-11, 165 pounds with a lean, athletic and projectable body with strength. Behind the plate he showed soft receiving skills with a quick transfer and short, over the top arm action with accuracy on throws. Continuing to work on arm strength and practicing footwork will decrease his pop time. He threw a 2.24 down to second and ran a 7.22 in the 60. At the plate he has an upright and open stance, possesses good bat speed with a nice swing plane and hits hard line drives with good pull side pop.
10/23/19 - One of the top backstops in attendance, Aguila displayed a natural presence behind the plate for the Indian River catcher. He received the ball still, soft hands sticking pitches on the corners and he blocked the ball with technique and quickness. At the plate, he stays within himself and takes a balanced, level swing lining the ball up the middle in multiple at bats, displaying hand-eye coordination needed for a catcher and middle-of-the-order bat.
