10/20/18 - Uncommitted. 6-foot-5, 220-pound physical right-handed pitcher, durable frame, strength throughout, room for continued physical maturation. Circular arm action, shows minimally on the back, high ¾ slot. Early on fastball sat 87-89, came in heavy but lacked command, velo dipped to 82-85 in subsequent innings. Slider, short break, 74-75.
10/01/18 - At 6-foot-5, 225 pounds, he has a strong, study frame. There is some deception in the delivery, although the moving parts can get him out of sync at times, as he continues to log innings he should continue to become more in sync and continue to make strides. The fastball worked mostly 85-88 mph with tilt and some late action at times. Again, when he got to extension and to the same release point consistently he showed ability to command the fastball, but lost command when he became rotational. The slider showed potential to be a plus out pitch. It worked 77-80, but was best when it was 78-79 mph. It has tight, late, two-plane action when at its best. Overall, the arm works well on a strong frame. The present ability along with the upside will have him as a very intriguing, uncommitted 2020 arm.
06/03/18- Uncommitted. Physical, 6-foot-5, 225-pound frame with durable strength throughout, and room to continue maturing. Fastball showed riding life in the zone at 82-84 and produced multiple swings and misses. Deceptive, segmented delivery with shorter arm action that pauses, somewhat, in the back, hiding from the hitter before delivering nearly from the ear. Slider worked 74-75 with shorter break. Looks like he will throw even harder in the future.
