8-15-2018: At six-foot-three, 210 pounds, Iser is a physical presence in the batter’s box. Has a rotational, in/out of the zone swing. Very similar to a pinball machine flipper. With that said, he does have a little more weight transfer than my previous look during the spring of 2017. Possesses plus-to-better raw power to his pull side. Struck out 15 times in 34 plate appearances this summer. Plus arm strength. From past looks at San Jacinto JC Iser has been typically a good receiver with strong and soft hands. However, he struggled at times on easy, framable pitches during this evaluation. Look for Iser to enter DBU this fall and excel under the tutelage of Dan Heefner, a highly regarded hitting coach whose program continues to develop prospect after prospect, both on the mound and in the batter’s box.
