08/25/18- Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot, 210 pounds with a solid, physical frame and strong lower half. Was one of the top performers throughout the weekend as he not only impressed behind the plate, but offensively as well. Behind the plate he shows strong hands and receives well while keeping everything in front of him, deadening pitches in the dirt. Throws to the bag are accurate and on line, topping out at 78 mph with pop times ranging from 1.92-2.01 seconds. Offensively, he shows strength throughout his swing with a level to uphill finish, driving the ball with authority. The ball jumps off the bat and creates hard contact every time he squares it up. During gameplay he crushed a ball deep over the left field wall for a home run that easily went 400+ feet. Also registered a 97 mph exit velocity in the cage. Bernstein was a big winner on the weekend and shouldn’t be uncommitted for too long as a catcher that shows present power at the plate with solid defensive ability behind it.
