5-foot-10, 165 pounds, average athletic build and proportions, strength to both halves with room to continue adding without sacrificing the present speed in his game. Clocked at a 6.80 on the sixty yard dash, the kid can scoot, and it shows up in his outfield play. In the box, Farley sets up with an even stance, planting the lead leg early on a minor step. Simple approach, looks to connect for line drives. Heavy opposite field contact on batting practice spray chart. Weight transfers well, but can look to engage the lower half and backside more moving forward. His tee exit velocity was measured at 81 MPH. As an outfielder, Farley has the footspeed to profile in center field, increasing his versatility and ability to slot into all three spots. The arm was clocked at 79 MPH and works from a ¾ slot, with long, clean action and some carry. High, athletic crow hop helps get body into the throw. Should continue to refine transitions from fielding to throwing as it can get long and deliberate. His middle of the diamond defensive value is currently his top skill, and proving the contact skills in live situations is the next step in improving his prospect stock. Farley is a 2020 follow for us this summer and fall.
5-foot-10, 157 pounds, Farley has matured physically since his last PBR event, showing added strength to his well-proportioned frame. He has some quick twitch athleticism and ran a 6.94 sixty yard dash. Farley posted a 79 MPH tee velocity, and made solid contact during batting practice. His feet set slightly more than shoulder width apart with a noticeable knee bend. There is some pre-pitch bat waggle with his hands setting at shoulder height. The bat path is level, tailored for a line drive approach to all fields. Farley takes a step into the swing, thought at times the body can get out in front of the bat too much when he gets off balance, causing the swing to drag. Honing his bat-to-ball skills to become more consistent at the plate will be a key part of his development. Defensively, Farley has the requisite athleticism to play center field. The arm action is clean, delivering the ball quickly from a higher slot. The arm was clocked up to 74 MPH, which should be expected to climb as he continued developing in the coming high school seasons. Farley is a player to keep tabs on as a high school prospect. Athletic with projection, if Farley takes some steps forward at the plate he could be a quick riser in the 2020 class.
5-foot-10 , 145-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Threw 73 mph from the outfield. The approach is appropriate and he is athletic enough to play anywhere out there. Had a real good showing at the event. Gets off the ball well and shows to be reliable in the outfield. Ran a 4.21 down the line on his dig to first base, as he moves very well. The speed translates to the game based off what I saw. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 77 mph, as physical strength gains are needed. Starts with his feet wide, and the hands are relaxed. Uses a small pick up and put down as the ball approaches. The swing plane is clean and he stays in position to hit. 1-handed finish after contact. Hammered the ball all over the yard in the game. Very good prospect as he has tools to play a higher level.
