7/12/16
5-foot-11, 208-pound, physically strong athletic frame. The wrists and lower half are strong. A right-handed hitter, the stance is even and balanced throughout the swing. The hands are loose at shoulder height and back elbow is extremely relaxed. The swing is down to level to up and has whip out front on contact and finishes with two hands. The swing is powerful, tee exit velocity was 87 mph and drove the ball to both gaps. In game performance was good, collected a couple hits along with making solid contact in all at bats. Times down the line were 4.74, plays the game faster than that, ran and played hard the entire time. Defensively, prep steps and footwork getting around the ball were good. Worked from the ground up, had an arm of 83 mph across the diamond. The arm action has average length to it, comes out of a ¾ slot, with good carry. Showed some quickness in starting the double play from third, could work on footwork and timing with the slow roller. Off the mound, works out of a simple delivery that has good tempo to it. The ball comes out of a ¾ slot, arm has some length to it on the back, with a small jab at the bottom of circle. Pounded the fastball to glove side and was low in the zone. Fastball was 79-82 mph with life to it. The change is an above average pitch, clocked at 71 -74 mph solid arm speed used. The breaking ball was clocked at 69-73 mph, has some velocity, with depth to it. A two-way prospect, can see him going in either direction, as a position player may have to move to the other side of field, can hit and pitch.
3/2/16
5-foot-11, 205-pound thick durable pitchers frame, back and shoulders are wide, with a strong lower half. A right-handed pitcher, who absolutely pounded and attacked the zone. The delivery has some rhythm and tempo to it, hands work in sync with leg raise. The stride is in line and he gets squared up to plate on release. The arm action has some length to it, works out of a high-¾ slot. The fastball was 82-84 mph, bores in hard to the arm-side, it's a heavy ball. The breaking ball was 71-74 mph with slurvey break to it, thrown for strikes and will freeze right-handed hitters. The changeup was 74-75 mph, thrown with good arm speed. Times to the plate were good at 1.27-1.44. Pitches downhill, ball gets on hitter quick. High follow for me.
