Scarpa is a 5-foot-10, 180 pound right-handed hitting infield prospect. He hits out of a narrow, open stance with the hands set just off the back shoulder. The swing begins with a controlled leg kick and a weight shift. The bat path is slightly elevated and produced a lot of gap to gap line drives with a top exit velocity of 86 MPH. He also showed some foot-speed, with a 6.9 second sixty.
Defensively, the third baseman showed light feet and moved well laterally. He gets into a balanced fielding position, with the glove extended in a relaxed position. As he transitions to throw, the feet get the hips into a direct line with the target and he finishes through the play, with a velocity of 68 MPH.

5-foot-10, 150-pound, solid, strong athletic frame, put together well, is well proportioned, showing strength throughout. A right-handed hitting third baseman, is a plus runner and really move, ran a 6.94 sixty-yard dash. Worked out off the mound as well. At the plate, hits out of a taller, closer stance. The hands are relaxed at the shoulders with a tilted setup. The lower half is under control, barrel gets in the zone quick and stays in there a long time, approach is more middle of the field, shows enough pop to beat the pull side outfielders. The swing creates natural lift and loft, back spin to the baseball, had an exit 87 mph, swung the bat very well in both batting practice and in game play. Defensively, soft hands, fields out front, feet move throughout, easy transfer with flow. The arm action is clean, works from a natural slot, clocked at 75 mph, with carry across the diamond. Moves well to both sides, double play starts are super smooth. Off the mound, working from set position, shows an athletic lift, inline stride to the plate. The arm action is clean from a 3/4 slot, fastball was clocked at 78 mph with bore action. The breaking ball, has a bigger break, clocked at 68 mph, showing proper spin and shape to it. Projects out for me at third base, like the feel for the game, shows ability to hit at the next level.

5-foot-10, 165-pound, average athletic frame, strong hands and wrists to him, shows to have room for added weight and strength. A right-handed hitting third baseman, at the plate, starts wider, slightly open. The hands are relaxed, tilted bat, hands stay back, small controlled stride, simple pick up and put down. The swing is down to level through the zone, its short to contact and finishes it at the shoulders with two hands. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 81 mph, with more in there as he adds strength, the swing works. Ran a 4.57 on a dig to first. Defensively, moves extremely well to both sides, hands are soft on the catch. The feet are active move throughout, arm action is clean working out of a 3/4 slot, clocked at 70 mph. The starts and feeds were performed correct. Interesting prospect, has game and feel to him.
