5-foot-11, 152-pound, average athletic frame, shoulders are sloped, arms are long. A well proportioned athlete, has plenty of room for future development. A two way player, showed well on both sides of the field. A right-handed pitcher, pounded the zone with three pitches. The delivery is simple and balanced throughout. The hands have rhythm with his controlled leg raise, separation is on time, stride is long and gets slightly across his body. The arm really works, comes out of a natural ¾ slow, finishes off the pitch with his throwing that arm. The backside hip/back leg could be involved a little more. The fastball was drilled to both sides of the plate, clocked at 75-77 mph, ball comes out well with life to it at the plate. The breaking ball has some slurve break to it, 64-67 mph, it's good. The changeup was 70-71 mph, proper speed differential, needs to trust feel and release out front. Look for the arm to take a jump. At the plate he hits from the right side, stance is even, with the feet slightly wider than shoulder width. The hands start at shoulder height, are loose and work freely through the zone. The lower half is under control, the swing is level through the zone, finishes the swing at shoulder height, stays on it and through it well. The approach is middle to more pull, has above average power for his age. Defensively, prep steps are good, feet move throughout, hands are soft, but fields close to body, needs to get it out front more. Moves well to glove side, is better in that direction. The arm is clean, clocked at 73 mph, across the diamond. The double play feeds were started correctly. Projects for me off the mound, spin pitch is good and has life in his arm, good follow.
