7/01/20

6-foot-1, 218-pound, strong, thick athletic frame, rounded shoulders, showing strength with a well proportioned frame. A right-handed pitcher, hands start low, work up with athletic leg kick, weight is loaded up on the backside. Looks to build momentum down the mound, lands inline with minimal pull to front glove. The arm action is longer and clean on the back, small jab on bottom on some pitches, is clean for the most part, working out of a natural 3/4 slot. The fastball has late life, clocked at 82 mph. The breaking ball was thrown at 67 mph, showing good tilt and break to it. Also, threw a turn me over changeup at 67-69 mph. Located all three pitches, should end up a mid to highs 80's guy at some point.

3/11/20

6-foot-1, 218-pound, strong, solid, durable athletic frame. Strength throughout, a well proportioned athlete. A right-handed pitcher, hands have tempo to them, work up with quick athletic leg raise, has coil to it. Stronger backside, staying tall and over the rubber, direction is inline with length to it. The arm action is clean on the backside, with length, working from a 3/4 slot. The fastball is heavy, located to both sides, clocked at 84 mph, with arm side action to it. The top pitch was his true hammer piece curveball, clocked at 74 mph, showing tilt with depth to it. Consistently thrown for strikes, is relentless and attacks with it. Showed feel for the changeup, still a work in progress, thrown at 70-73 mph, can be used against left-handed hitters.   A three pitch pitcher, look for the velocity to jump at some point. Big follow for me.

7/17/19

5-foot-11, 200 pound big body player, thick, durable athletic pitchers frame. Strength throughout, gives him the ability to be a two-way player. Defensively, fields out front, works low and through the baseball.  Shows an accurate arm with throws on target, flashing 78 mph to 1st. At the plate, he showed a level to up swing with hard contact coming off the bat. His exit velocity was 78 mph, more of a pull approach shows to have juice to pull gap. Off the mound his arm is quick on the fastball getting it up to 80 mph. Direction is inline with lower half, lead arm comes off a tick, needs to track longer. The arm work out of a ¾ to high ¾ slot. The fastball has bore action to it. The breaking ball is an out pitch, clocked at 63 mph, spin and shape are correct, needs more fastball hand speed to it. Projects for me off the mound, look for him to take off this year.

Exit Velocity: 78
Arm Strength: 78

3/06/19

5-foot-11, 200-pound, strong, thick durable frame. With the lower half having strength to it. During bullpen session, rolled ankle with only getting to fastballs, was unable to throw any off speed pitches.  A right-handed pitcher, has tempo with hands during leg lift, slower place delivery. The direction is inline, shows to have minimal pull with front glove. The arm action is long and clean working out of a natural ¾ slot, finish is out front with good extension. The fastball was clocked at 81 mph. The fastball has life, shows to have sink and run to it. At prior events, I’ve seen the breaking ball, its playable with tilt and depth. Look for him to continue to improve, pounds the zone with strikes.

2/15/19

5-foot-9, 167-pound, wider, thick, strong athletic frame. A two-way player, showed well on both sides of the field. Off the mound, this right-handed pitcher, works from a ¾ slot, lands slightly across the body. Slight bend at waist, which gets him off line at times. The fastball reached 81 mph, comes out of his hand with ease located to both sides of the plate, with action to arm side. Showed the ability to throw both secondary pitches for strikes, changeup has proper fade and shape to it, thrown at 71-73 mph. The breaking ball showed to have proper tilt, depth and ability to drop in for a strike at 69-73 mph. Chance to be an above average pitch at some point. At the plate, hits from the right-side, swing is fluid, a level to up path, could stay through it a tick longer. The lower half is under control, smooth leg kick. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 81 mph, with more of a pull approach. Ran the sixty-yard dash at 8.36. Defensively, fields out front, soft hands, arm was clocked at 75 mph. Projects out for me as more of an arm, like the ability to throw three pitches for strikes, with more in the arm as he adds strength.

Tee Exit Velocity- 81 mph
Arm Velocity- 75 mph
Sixty-Yard Dash- 8.36

1/15/18

5-foot-9, 167-pound, strong, thick frame for his age. The hands and wrists have strength to them. A right-handed hitting hitter, the stance is balanced, feet are shoulder width, front foot is slightly open. The hands are relaxed, loose and start at shoulder height. The bat starts in more of a flat position. The separation is good, uses a high leg kick for timing. The swing is level to up, with a high one handed finish. The approach is more pull at this point. Shows to have above average pop for his age, tee exit velocity was clocked at 74 mph, and ran a 8.87. Defensively, shows soft hands, fielding out front, feet are under control and work well with the hands. The transfer is clean and gets the baseball to throwing hand with easy effort. The arm was clocked at 68 mph, showed average flight and carry. The arm action is short and clean, has a small are path, throws from his ear.  Behind the plate, had a pop time of 2.25-2.41, arm was clocked at 62 mph. The feet gain ground, transfer is clean, could stay closed more lower to the ground during the transfer. Off the mound, threw three pitches for strikes, fastball was clocked at 67-71 mph. The arm action is short on the back side, lead leg gets across the body at times, front glove is tucked to the body. Showed to have feel for the secondary pitches the breaking ball was clocked at 60-61 mph, with the changeup at 57-61 mph. Only a freshman,  plenty of time to continue to improve, conditioning will aid in his progress.

Tee exit velocity: 74 mph
Arm velocity: INF-68 mph, C-62 mph
Sixty-Yard dash: 8.87
