A number of players had breakout performances at the plate and on the mound. 2021 OF Adam Moser (Fairview, CO) put his tools on full display. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder concluded is a high end athlete (6.60 runner) with a strong frame and quick hands, Moser keeps it simple at the plate, allowing his raw athleticism to take over. He has a balanced setup with a slight bend in his knees, the hands load back and whip the barrel through the zone with explosiveness at the point of contact. Moser takes a gap-to-gap approach with a mostly level barrel path and drives the ball with ease. Put it all together today when he launched not one, but two triples deep into the gaps, went for it all on the second as he tried to complete the rare inside-the-park home run, but was caught out at home.
1-27-19 Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 188 pounds. Bats and throws right. At the plate sets up in a balanced stance, with soft short stride, and slow load back with good separation and rhythm. Moser generates gap to gap power with above average bat speed and strength which generated an event best 93 mph exit velocity off a tee. Good hand eye coordination and barrel control. Bat bath is level with good extension. Has a tendency to dive over plate which could hinder ability to get to inside pitch, however in this round Moser the gap to gap power potential by barreling every pitch. In the field had the top arm velo from the outfield group throwing 84 mph. Ran a simulated dry-swing 3.95 home to first time. In past events we have had him at 6.8 for the 60.
6-12-18 6-foot-0, 178-pound right hand hitting OF/2B who ran a 6.84 60. Simple set up at the plate, square and balanced. Long stride to get his weight moving forward. Hands whip through the zone and swing path is uphill. Several balls hit deep into the gap during the live round. Exit velocity was 87 mph. In the field he glides to the ball and cuts down the angle with his speed. Arm is over the top and accurate at 79 mph. Player to watch.
1-28-18 6-foot, 175 pounds. Bats and throws right. Good looking athlete who fills uniform out well. Has bat speed. Balanced stance, loads back, then keeps hands inside of ball. Lets the ball get deep then quick hands through the zone. 85 mph exit velocity. In the field he shows good actions and instincts. Arm is loose and over the top. Arm velocity was 76 mph with accuracy. On the mound he stands tall and gets balanced. Strong lower leg drive to the plate and stays in-line on his delivery. Arm speed stays consistent on all three pitches.
