At the plate, slight open stance, leg kick, lands slightly closed, accelerates through the ball, quick and strong hands, power to pull side, fast bat speed, feel for the barrel. Behind the plate, 75 mph positional velocity, pop times between 2.09-2.12-seconds, short over the top arm slot, quick exchange, feet create momentum to throw, mostly accurate throws with carry to the bag.

Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 175 pounds. Bats and throws right. At the plate Valdez has a slight balanced crouch, hands load straight back with soft short stride. Slight uphill swing that extends through the ball. Exit velo was 85 mph off a tee. As a receiver Valdez shows confidence, and he beats the ball and sticks fastball on both sides of plate. Valdez with big frame gets ball down to second quick utilizing a strong arm. Arm velo was 74 mph, and had a 1.93 to 2.02 pop time off a coach. Projectable receiver with power potential.

Swing path is slightly uphill and during the live round he hit several balls into the gaps with carry. Behind the plate he showed good actions and movement on all pitches. He showed soft hands and a quick transfer on throws to second. Arm velocity was 68 MPH with accuracy to the bag.
