2023 RHP/OF Cody Sheets (uncommitted) squared off against Palmer Ridge in the 1st game of rescheduled double-header. Sheets, threw 99 pitches, 5 innings, 6 hits, 10 k’s. FB was steady range at 86-88. He located his FB in/out and up/down. Gave up four early runs, but settled in to recover and pitch well for a win. Used his SL often and effectively. SL 73-75. CH 72.
Impressive first PBR event for this Air Academy HS athlete. As a right-handed pitcher, Cody's fastball topped out was at 86.3 mph from a max effort delivery for OT. Room for development and refinement. 6-foot-1, 160-pound frame can add strength. Cody has good feel for his offspeed stuff. Impressive barrels during his round of BP as a left-handed hitter. Exit velocity of 90.9 mph with good rhythm and timing as hitter. Nice surprise from this 2023 who's trending upwards.
