5-10, 175 physical upper half with wide shoulders and length through the athletic legs. Balanced stance with hands wide and high keeping flatter barrel over back shoulder; lift and replace with front foot showing looseness in the hips. Barrel turns well behind him and upwards through the zone with high finish from steeper hand path; able to backspin balls with carry working each of the gaps (86 EV). Light feet and some athleticism in OF; can be more aggressive to get the baseball. Arm has full swing with high release showing limited carry to bags (71 OF).
10/13/19
PBR N CA Top Prospect Game - Strong young man with some visible strength developed in his upper body on a 5-foot-10, 175-pound body. Strength plays within his swing, which is short to the ball and has limited/little wasted movement. Ball comes off bat very well (91 mph top exit velo off tee) and it showed in game play as well. Keeps hands inside and can work the whole field. Sees the ball well which will allow him to be comfortable vs breaking balls and offspeed offerings. Raw arm can improve as an outfielder (74 mph) but given his ability to work the bat at 1st base, he could transition there full time. Ran 7.15 60-yard. Whether LF or 1st base (R/L), there is some bat talent to fit the position.
5/31/19
BAWS 2019 - Physical medium build with rolled shoulders and high waist; athletic, long lower half moving well (7.00 60 yd). Balanced stance, tall with even hands as hands have gradual load into back shoulder. Lifts body through contact creating hard contact from a level bat over stiff front leg (89 EV). Heavy pullside focus during BP with ability to grind out AB’s at the plate during the games. Moves fairly around 1B with ability to get off the bag and read ball coming to him; pushy arm from a 3/4 release (74 MPH).
1/27/19
PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Wide medium frame with thick, muscular upper half; inline runner gets feet moving very quickly with little effort (6.82 60-yd). Tall, balanced stance with hands low in back shoulder and relaxed elbows; hands load up and back into shoulder on quick step. Direct swing with short, pullside approach finish high in back shoulder; stayed in LCF gap. Wide feet showing high hips and a late glove; comfort around the bag with good footwork when receiving. Compact, high release; gets body into throws and keeps it around bag (67 MPH).
