vs Oakmont HS at Fresno Easter Classic - Uncommitted; rangy 3rd baseman with lean wiry body type; arm stands out immediately with throws tracking across diamond and maintaining plane, fringe plus arm now and certainly projects as plus arm as he develops. Quick bat and hands work inside, line drive stroke with some present gap power and more as he develops strength. Tools rate well for 3rd base, both defensively and offensively. Arm and body type also fit the mound though not seen him pitch.
3/01/19
vs Franklin HS - Long and lean athlete with an arm that jumps out immediately during pre-game INF/OF. The ball was on-line with carry across the diamond. Down the road it's a plus arm and brings to mind the 'what if' about him as a pitcher. However, he also swings the bat well and will have ample opportunity to fully develop as a player. He kept his hands inside the ball with some innate strength that allows him to miss-hit a ball and still have it leave the bat well. The swing is short and the bat speed is good, though the front shoulder too frequently leaves early, which could leave him exposed to pitches on the outer third, especially as he starts open and stays that way. Look for him to emerge as a special talent on this roster after the senior group moves on.
