Lawson has an excellent, projectable frame at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds. He breezed through his outings at Area Code Games, allowing just one baserunner on an error while striking out six in three innings of work over two appearances. He sat 90-93 in the first before coming back a couple days later and sitting 89-92. He has a slight hip turn in his delivery, which is easy, and a short arm action for someone with long limbs. He left the ball up in the zone some in his second appearance, but he’s athletic and should be able to find average command down the road. His curveball is inconsistent, but at its best when sitting 74-75. He is committed to Arizona State.
