Uncommitted. Six-foot-2, 180-pounds. Large, lean, strong frame with ample room for continued physical development. Highly athletic player on the infield where he shows ample range to both sides and enough arm strength to make accurate throws from any angle. May profile best at third base in the future where his athleticism would really stand out. At the plate he starts with a neutral setup before shifting weight to backside and driving through the ball with fast hands and present bat speed. Drove balls to all fields during BP with more of a middle-left approach in game. Gets and keeps the barrel in the hitting zone for a long time while remaining balanced through to extension. Swings on a slightly uppercut path.

THE FIVE: South Bay 2021s Stark has a tall, slender frame, with athleticism and physical projection. Stark has upside as he was a physical sophomore, consistently in the lineup playing solid defense. He played 2nd, was a solid defender and started showing enough range to move the other side at SS. He shows more pull side approach right now at the plate. Was able to hit the ball in the gaps. As he matures and adds strength I feel he develops more a gap-to-gap approach. He didn’t flash much power, was able to foul off tough pitches. Average runner, medium stride and quick feet. Stark can steal a bag or two. Had a strong arm, carries through and mechanics were consistent. Had a strong arm for 2b. When he adds more strength his arm strength will carry over nicely to short. Gets good reads off the bat, funnels the ball and fields from down to up. Covers a good amount of ground and will get better as he transition to the other side. His instincts are developing right now, will get stronger as he continues to add innings in the summer and his junior season. Stark was a nice addition to a heavy D1 Redondo lineup and a contributor. Stark will be a player college need to keep an eye on and a player to watch in 2021.

2021 2B/SS (Uncommitted) Patrick Starktall frame, strong and athletic, with physical projection. Has a gap-to-gap approach showing more pull side right now, young and developing. Doesn’t show much power but will come as he adds more strength. Has quick feet with a medium stride and is an average runner. Has a strong arm that can play at shortstop and makes accurate throws. Good reads off the bat and funnels the ball smoothly. Strong range with enough to play short for the immediate future. Has developing instincts that will get stronger as he matures as gets more games under his belt. Was 1-for-3 on Thursday with a single and an RBI. His single came in a huge situation as Redondo was threatening in the top of the 7th. They lost, but his RBI kept the game going.

2021, INF Patrick Stark, (uncommitted), has a nice size frame, young, athletic body, with physical projection. He ended his day on Thursday not recording a hit, but he did put together 3 quality at-bats. On Friday he ended the day with three hits. Flashes a line-drive approach with short, compact. Shows present pull hitter tendencies right now, but that should change as he mature more and receives more at-bats. He is solid defensively and fields the ball smoothly with good athleticism. Stark will be a player to keep an eye on in the south bay.
