1/19/19-1/21/19- 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, mature athletic build, strong lower half, room for growth. Extremely repeatable mechanics, takes full advantage of strong lower half with plus hip drive towards home plate. Releases from a high three-quarters arm slot, quick arm speed, loose arm action, arm works naturally with easy effort and great balance. Fastball sat comfortably in the 88-91 mph range with hard action through the zone featuring good spin rate and plus command. Showed a big 1/8 breaking ball with sharp sweeping action and wipe out potential in the 76-78 mph range. Change-up flashed as a plus pitch with heavy arm-side run, fade and parachute like action at a 79-81 mph range. At the plate he has a slightly open stance, good balance, relaxed hands, fluid swing through the zone, shows the ability to hit to all fields. Takes advantage of strong lower half with good hip drive, flashing potential for next level power. Average runner, natural defensive instincts at first base, handles the position well. Advanced high school player whom is dangerous both on the mound and at the plate. Physically mature high school pitcher with a solid three-pitch mix with weekend college starter potential, could contribute at the college level now both at the plate and on the mound.

1/19/19 - Josh Hahn is No. 5 in the state Class of 2019 rankings and certainly did nothing on Saturday to convince us otherwise. The southpaw is showing more consistent velocity in the 88-90 range with the fastball that is flashing more arm side life as it enters the hitting zone. His changeup continues to develop as it flashed some unseen sinking action along with fade while his curveball flashed downer biting action. But the thing that stands out with Hahn is his physical development. He's made a commitment to getting stronger and it's showing. He's thicker in the lower half and through the shoulders which can only bode well for him this season when he's unlikely to come off the field.

9/19/18 - Hahn looks like a different guy from the one we saw earlier this summer. His body is beginning to take a more physical shape which may be adding to his confidence at the plate. The UCLA commit seems more relaxed at the plate and is seeing the ball well. The No. 5 player in 2019 class in the state stayed inside on an 84 mph fastball to drive it into left field for a single before pulling an 85 mph fastball to right field for a single later in the game. Both balls were hit fairly hard.

7/15/18 -  Josh Hahn is the number two player in the 2019 Top 100 in California and the UCLA commit did nothing today to dissuade me that he belongs near the top of the rankings. After a very good batting practice where he peppered the gaps with line drives and hit a few to the track, Hahn really shined in his stint on the mound in the game action. His fastball was consistent at 88-89 and showed some life while his changeup was his best pitch on the day at 81-82. He backed those up with a curveball at 70-71 that he threw for strikes. He also took a couple of really good at-bats where he showed patience in laying off bad pitches and attacking good ones.

TOS 2018 - Despite the lopsided final score, Pride starting LHP Josh Hahn (Huntington Beach, CA) did his part, pitching three scoreless innings in which he allowed two hits and one walk while striking out two. The 6-foot, 200-pound UCLA recruit is a pitchability left-hander who showcased an advanced three-pitch arsenal that included an 87-89 mph fastball and 80-82 mph fading changeup, which served as his best weapon on Thursday. He also mixed in a 70 mph curveball with depth. All three pitches come out of the same window and everything works with little effort.

4/3/18 - 4/6/18 - He has excellent feel for the barrel which works through the zone on a flat path. Wider set up in a crouch and throws the hands to the ball with authority, yet control. He showed the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Didn't blow up at the plate during the week, but he can really hit. He came in for one inning on the mound and was 85-88 mph.

3/18/18 – UCLA commit, 6-foot, 200-pound frame, with medium-large, stocky frame and strong lower half. Some upper body strength is still remaining. Hahn displays the ability to play multiple positions well. He is an aggressive FB, front foot hitter that can do some damage in the form of doubles & home runs. Has a normal leg kick load, with good timing. Hahn shows the skill to recognize secondary pitches, but has trouble barreling up at present time. He is an average runner that is adequate on the base paths, and can read a ball in the dirt. Hahn features a 3-pitch mix; FB works 88-91 with the ability to tic it up a notch and run it glove side. Has good shape on his best pitch, CB, 72-75 and fading action on his CH, 79-82. He is a plus competitor with some fire and leadership qualities.

2/7/18- Hahn continues to show that he might be the best two-way player in his class. On the mound he continues to pound the zone at 88-91 with easy arm action that projects to add a tick more velocity as he matures physically - he’s still only 16! His breaking ball already has the makings of a plus pitch with it’s tight, hard, downward plane that flashes good depth. It sits at 73-75, touching 76. Offensively is where Hahn may earn his keep. The swing is fluid and reminds many of former teammate and 2017 first round pick, Nick Pratto. Hahn has shown the ability to generate a tick more power than Pratto and with more consistency. Hahn’s swing path is consistent and he keeps the barrel in the hitting zone. A disciplined hitter, Hahn shows very good pitch recognition and plate coverage that belies his age.

1/12/18 -
UCLA commit. 6-foot-1, 190 pound frame with room for refinement. A legitimate two-way player presently who could do the same in college if given the chance. Hahn pitched and hit in this game and did both at a high level. Working 88-91, the UCLA commit touched 92 twice. Fastball shows good arm side run. He also busted it inside to righties a few times. His curveball was primarily 73-75. It was tight, hard, and showed good depth. Used it as an out pitch more than once. At the plate Hahn hit a no-doubt homerun to right center field off an 84 mile per hour fastball away. Made consistent, loud contact in every other at bat on the day.
