Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Body: 6-foot-2, 155-pounds. Long, lean and wiry strong. High waisted with large feet and hands. Ample room to add mass/strength.
Power: 94 mph exit velo during BP. Shows present gap power from a middle-middle approach
Arm: 88 mph from SS. Strong, accurate, easy arm. Able to make throws from all angles.
Field: Transfers are clean and quick. Plays light on feet moving around the field with ease. Quick first step/high instincts. Quicker than he is fast, particularly in short spurts to the ball. Range is average to slightly above. Backhand is true. Understands body and plays under control at all times.
Run: 7.27 laser timed 60 on a grass surface.
PITCHING
Delivery: Repeatable delivery with clean mechanics. Gains ground down mound, particularly with changeup (avg. 6’6” extension). Lands balanced and inline with the target. Pauses at step, gathers, then goes to plate.
Arm Action: High 3/4 slot. Short path to compact circle in back. There’s quickness in the arm with little tension. Shows ability to create arm speed when synced up and on time. Repeats slot on all pitches.
FB: T90 (88-89); 1:15 Tilt creates ride up in the zone; Avg. 17.6 IVB
CH: 78-79; Plays off FB very well from the same tunnel. Solid movement/separation from FB
SL: 71-73; Close to pure sidespin; Avg. 8:30 tilt. Plays well with changeup/fastball combo
7/29/19
6-foot-1, 155-pounds, long, lean, wiry athletic frame with long limbs, and twitchy strength throughout with ample room to add more to strength and mass. There’s some deception to his delivery with a high leg kick and a medium back turn allowing him to hide the ball well. Arm slingshots through a high 3/4 slot consistently with quickness. Worked fastball to all quadrants of the strike zone touching 88 mph and living comfortably at 85-86 mph with several 87’s mixed in. Maintained his velocity into the fifth inning where he was 84-86 mph with the fastball. Curveball got progressively better each time he threw it. Started a bit loose before and adjustment made it sharper with more of a slurvy action away to righties. Also dropped in an 11/5 shaped breaking ball in on righties. Curveball worked 68-71 mph early and was 67-69 mph late in the game.
