Pacific signee; game vs Cosumnes Oaks HS, threw a good game, competitive as always. Stuff continues to be the same in terms of velocity/etc and of course that isn't what he's about. The curveball was sharp and can go to it at anytime, good pick move again showed up as he nabbed a runner at 1st base, fields position well, and as per usual, has the ability to work out of trouble like few HS kids I see, case in point, bases loaded and none out, induced a very soft 1-2-3 double play and struck out the next batter. vs Buchanan HS - Pacific signee, he's about as savvy as you'll see on the mound and his moxie is very notable. He's got a smaller/average body and the stuff doesn't excite anyone relative to velocity. He was 80-84 mph this one, which is what I've seen before. He gets good movement with the fastball and can go to all quadrants with it. It's the tight curveball 68-72 mph that he can seemingly go to at anytime, to left or right-handed hitters. He pitches with the breaking ball like most pitchers use their fastball, which allows his fastball to play up. Stevens' also has a good change-up (even if he did leave that one up to Miguel Ortiz) and will use it vs left or right-handed hitters. He holds runners well, can set them up to be picked off (did that) and can also hold them close to the bag to allow his catcher (twin brother) to throw them out. He fields his position excellently and overall you just get the feel that you are watching a kid who loves baseball and would pitch/play the same way in his backyard as he does in a big game like this. He did give up some hits and had to frequently pitch in traffic, but he was up to the task.

Uncommitted as of this viewing; Small frame on average 5-foot-8 150-pound body. Competes like a giant on the field, very much inc harge of the game when on the mound. Bulldog competitor who is all business, his passion resonates throughout his defense and in the dugout. Strong for his size, athletic with excellent body awareness in his delivery and fielding his position. Strikes out too many hitters to be finesse, forces too much weak contact to be a strikeout pitcher. Uptempo, pitches like he has a plane to catch. Ten to twelve pitches an inning is normal. Rarely throws the same pitch twice, and hitters just cannot get comfortable in the box. After a weak bleeder for a single, the baserunner was quickly picked off of 1st base for an out. The biggest jam he had to pitch out of was getting the third out with runners on 1st and 2nd with two outs in the 7th inning. Radar gun readings from mid-60s to low-mid-80s, fastball peaked at 83, cutter 77 mph, curveball 66 mph, change-up mid-70s. Absolutely a blast to watch compete.
