4/3/18 - 4/6/18 - Agile and can really receive. Arm plays with carry, and absolutely hosed a guy down in the championship game with what was a 1.9 pop time. Still has some polishing to do, but will be a good defensive catcher. At the plate he has strength from the right side. Uphill path with twitchier hands and does not get cheated. There will probably be some swing and miss in there but he hit balls VERY hard including a home run and deep double on day one.
1/27/13 - Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame. Big, physical build that will harden up with continue physical maturation, young for his class, proportional strength with a powerful lower half. One of the biggest risers in SoCal because of his ability to mash everything in the zone with a selective eye. Offensively, Perry uses a slightly open, balanced stance with active hands at his shoulders and a slight forward lean, uses a slight toe-tap trigger which closes his stance before driving his back hip and upper body into the ball. Perry keeps the barrel on a consistent path in zone to the ball. Maintains balance and weight distribution through entire swing to finish, fast hands allow him to catch up when it appears he’s beat and allow him to get on top of balls that are up. Finishes with high hands. Defensively, Perry is an athletic, nimble for his size catcher that receives with soft hands and quiet body, sets up late as to not give anything away, receives the ball out front, quick and clean transfers, pop time sat in the 2.01-2.11 zone.
