Has shown swing-and-miss tendencies at the plate, but he has above average bat speed and flashes a short path. When he does make contact, the ball jumps, as evidence by a single he had Friday that was pulled to right field at 101 off the bat.
3/27/18 at Boras Classic - Oregon commit. Strong and lean muscular build on a 6-foot-1 190-pound frame. Leg definition stands out. Right-fielder with prototypical tools for the position. Ranges to the line well and can cover his gap. Angles and reads stood out as plus skills. Strong and accurate arm capable of throwing out runner or simply deterring them from going based on that arm strength. Offensively has all the bat speed a player needs, open stance and has a hitterish feel in the box. Showed best when keeping an honest approach and working to be on time and letting his fast and strong hands work for him. Good top hand finish and able to drive the ball to centerfield and the pull side. Generally stays inside the ball well but did show a tendency to guess and cheat at times and got himself out with that approach. Overall tool set and talents rate with the top players in Northern California in the 2019 class.
