2/15/20: After going undrafted last June, the now senior Beesley improved his standing with a .280/.371/.432 slash line over the summer in the Cape. He has plus speed and plays solid defense in the outfield with a near average arm. There’s raw pop in his bat with an aggressive swing, but to this point it hasn’t translated into much of an over-the-fence threat in games with just four career home runs entering the 2020 season. With good bat speed he’s able to turn on velocity, yet can get out front against off speed offerings. A strong spring could help him slide into Day Two as a senior sign.
8/14/19: After going undrafted this June, Beesley improved his standing in evaluators’ eyes with a .280/.371/.432 slash line to go with plus speed and solid defense on the grass. While Beesley isn’t an over-the-fence threat, there’s better-than-expected extra base potential thanks to solid bat speed and a compact swing capable of turning on low-to-mid-90s velo. A strong spring could help him slide into Day Two as a senior sign. (Faleris)
8/20/18: Undersized outfielder at five-foot-ten, 175 pounds Beesley knows his strengths and plays to them. Generates good bat speed with a minimal load. Compact swing with a flat path. Ball jumps off his barrel. Doubles power. Used all fields. Ran a 4.28 down the line on a grounder to first base. Near average arm, just enough for right field. Made all the plays defensively.
