2021 RHP Austin Puett (West Ranch, CA)- 6-foot-4, 220-pounds, XL frame, tall, thick body with present strength & wide shoulders. Right-handed pitcher, works out of the stretch. Starts moderately crouched with feet shoulder width apart, gets into back side with leg kick. Uses a short linear stride to home plate with upward tilt of the shoulders, has more backside drive available. Long arm action from an OT slot, higher release. Control was a bit shaky on the day with 3-pitches. Missed down with his FB at 87-90mph, topping out at 91.29mph with average run at 2246rpm, averaged 19in of IVB, coming through the zone slightly steep. Threw a cutter at 81-84mph with above average velocity & spin (2300rpm) for a high schooler. Natural arm strength & body should make him a strong follow.
+ 2021 RHP Austin Puett (West Ranch, CA)- Strong big bodied pitcher at 6-foot-4, 220-pounds, XL frame with above average strength, barrel chested with big legs. Works out of the stretch with slow tempo, simple lower half with some tightness, upward tilt of the shoulders, long stride. Works from over-the-top, throwing from extremely high release (7.3ft) with good extension (6.9ft). FB is thrown with almost straight back spin with close to 12:00 tilt at 2300rpm. FB sat 87-88mph with some cutting action. Mixed in two breaking balls, one thats more of SL at 70-72mph with some sweep at 13in of HM and another that profiles more as a cutter at 79-80. Although there is some rawness, his body & arm strength gives him some upside.
