The junior catcher is like many catchers in that you appreciate his skill set more with each and every viewing. He’s in great shape physically and translated that into some of the best numbers he’s posted at a PBR event in the 60 (7.02) and pop-times (1.94-2.02). He’s an athletic catcher with quick actions out of the crouch. Doesn’t cheat on throwdowns to second base. Showed enough athleticism/understanding of angles/arm strength during the outfield portion of the workout to lead you to believe he can handle the position. Favors the pull side at the plate where there’s significant strength presently. Uses a simple toe-lift trigger before and explosive lower half drives hands to contact with excellent feel for the barrel.

N. CA Underclass ID - Medium, wide frame that is compact and strong with athletic feet showing ability to move well (7.28 60yd). Very high hand set up as he pulls bat down into back shoulder in quick knee-tuck load. Power is present in swing as he works behind the baseball with good tilt of the shoulders working the bat upwards through the zone as body stays in strong hitting position. Strength in body shows up with ability to drive ball deep over fence and into gaps to the pullside. Showed quick bat speed driving ball through the middle of field with strength during EV testing (88 MPH). In OF showed his athleticism attacking the baseball and showing off a strong arm that had life on throws to bag (85 MPH). Also impressed with his catching skills allowing quick feet to work and clean transfer from glove allowing arm strength to keep ball on arm side of the bag (2.01-2.08 Pop, 77 MPH). During bullpens continually talking to his pitchers and presenting where he wanted the pitches while showing ability to receive well with quick movements beating ball for blocks. Frame is strong and quick with ability to hop out of crouch from blocks.

SoCal Preseason All-State - 5-foot-9, 180-pounds, big, strong frame with little projection remaining. Hitting from the right side, Aleman loads well with a nice leg kick. Barrel explodes through the zone with excellent present bat speed. Power is there and will get even better with added strength. Defensively, Aleman has a wide base and receives the ball very well. Gets to the ball well with soft hands. Pop times ranged from 2.02-2.13. Delivered strong throws around the bag as well. Aleman, was one of the stronger players at the showcase where he showed off his power and good defensive skills behind the plate.
