7/12/19

Area Code Games Underclass tryout - Cal commit; Long rangy body, athletic actions, overhand slot, easy arm action, deep on backside, fastball mostly straight with average life through the zone, big shape to curveball, can project him out and dream on velocity gains given his athleticism and body type.

3/01/19

vs Buchanan HS - Long lanky angular young player, lots of physical growth still in his future, started at 3rd base and for lanky young player who is a long way from physical maturity he moved around with good actions and what appeared to be good athleticism. On the mound he has an overhand slot and fluid delivery. The stuff will continue to evolve and in this one he was 82-84 mph with the fastball and frequently used his a 12/6 curveball that was sitting steadily at 67 mph. He gets some angle through the zone with the curveball and it occasionally bottomed out below bats. With strength gains in his lower body he will gain velocity and more life on the fastball, particularly if that that lower body strength improves the release point. That will also tighten up the breaking ball. Lots to favorable projection with him.
