Orange County Preseason All-State - sturdy lower half build in a 5-foot-10 165 pound frame. Mechanically showed a leg hitch and slight pause in the back creating some deception and timing issues for the opposing hitter from a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball came across with some run and carry at 79-81 mph. Curveball has nice spin and tilt to it at 65-67 mph and showed command of the pitch. Continued his off-speed command and control capability with a change-up with parachute fade at 69-73 mph. Both off-speed pitches showed swing in miss capability. Command and control pitcher with good feel for his off-speed pitches coupled with some deception in his delivery make him a viable arm on his pitching staff and an increase in fastball velocity would push his stock upwards.

PBR CA STATE GAMES - High waist, full frame with some current strength and space to tighten frame as he continues to mature. Flashed two-way abilities with skills on the mound sticking out for future success. Went two innings striking out 2 and pitching around 4 hits. Hands stay at the waist through average front knee staying tall before hinging into back hip pushing down the hill showing good transfer through the hips. Compact swing to H-3/4 release, arm works cleanly with good hand speed through the slot. FB 78-82 pitching to lower part of the zone with sink and run to the arm side; was best that way. CB 67-69 11/5 break, short and tight with late sweep off the plate on his best ones; pitch has good shape and can make jumps. CHG 73-77 was above-average with strong sink at the plate and the feel to throw in different counts and locations. At the plate stays tall with simple load allowing for full swing upwards through the zone; picked up a hit through the left side in the 2nd game.

SoCal Preseason All-State - 5-foot-9, 170 pounds, athletic build, balanced structure with plenty of room for growth. Short and quick arm action with an over the top release point. Keeps everything tight and turns slightly to create power and momentum towards home. Great mechanical balance, smooth rhythm, level shoulders and in line direction when throwing fastballs. Fastball featured arm side run and good plane. Curveball and change-up need work, both pitches were released with slower arm speed and arm action. Mature pitcher for age and grade. Good projection with physical growth and development of secondary pitches.

SoCal Underclass Games - Five-foot-9, 170-pound, medium frame with a thick lower half. Long arms, short, stocky torso. The rising freshman shows a high ¾ slot with present average arm speed. Cazares has a tendency to fly open before dragging the arm through the delivery and into extension. Fastball is straight while Cazares is able to spot it fairly well. Curveball has a 10/4 shape with gradual tumbling action. The effort is regular and the arm speed is fairly consistent on most pitches.

At 5-foot-9, 170-pounds, Cazares has a stout, strong frame with a powerful lower half that he uses well during his delivery. A short, darting arm action with a small loop in the back, Cazares has a true ¾ arm slot showing good command for his fastball and feel for his changeup and curveball. The fastball is a tick straight, but he's able to locate it well. The curveball has a 10/4 break and is a bit more sweeping from his same arm speed as the fastball. Cazares threw the pitch for strike consistently. His changeup is developing as he shows the ability to throw strikes with it, but the pitch lacks life and he slows his arm a bit when throwing it. He's tall on the backside with a slight knee bend while landing inline consistently on a bent knee. Cazares should see improvement in command in velocity with some minor tweaks on the backside with his arm (loopy), and head positioning.
