2023 OF Matthew Hart (Canyon View)- 6-foot-1, 175-pounds, large frame, lengthy body, projectable strength with some present athleticism. Worked out as a two-way player. Right-handed hitter, semi wide base, athletic balanced stance, used a collected leg lift, landing slightly closed. Loads to back shoulder with flat barrel, connected as he starts his swing, on plane early. Timing was a bit out of sync in BP on the day. Hit some balls hard in live game action. Used the whole field with short swing and present bat speed, 90.55mph exit velocity via Trackman. Active feet, aggressive to the baseball, created good momentum. Some length to his release at times from a lower slot. Stayed behind the ball on fly balls. Also worked out on the mound. Right-hander, athletic controlled delivery, repeatable, hides the ball well. Throws from a lower/side arm slot with loose arm action, mostly two-pitch mix. FB sat 82-83mph, topping out at 84mph with run/sink, averaging 14in of HM. SL had sweeping action at 63-68mph that can be thrown with more intent, working up to 19in of HM to the glove side. High upside whose development should be followed closely.
