6’ 175-pound frame. Wide, square base with high hands off of ear. Some stiffness but uses side bend and kick back well to make it work for him. Stays inside the ball, working through the middle of the field. Exit velo was at 84 MPH. Bare hand stays close for smooth transfer. Too quick to get right foot down which throws off arm timing. Pop time was down to a 2.06 with arm strength at 70 MPH
10/14/18 - 6-foot-0, 170-pound catcher. Continues to improve as a thrower behind the plate. Posted the best pop times in our extended looks, 2.06-2.13. Very quick transfer. Continuing to improve arm strength will be key to eventually posting 2.0 or better times. Offensively, starts from a wide athletic base. Inside out swing. Dives at times, getting his upper body out over the plate, which can limit power; 80 mph exit velocity. Also posted 7.79 60-yard dash.
6/5/18 - 6-foot, 160-pound frame. Started from a balanced, wide set up at the plate. Hands work back slightly in combination with a no stride resulting in minimal separation. Hands then work down and directly to the baseball. Center of mass moves over front leg after contact with a high one handed finish; 76 mph exit velocity. Peterman posted pop times ranging from 2.17 - 2.29 from behind the plate. Good low crouch set up. Received the ball with both hands out in front of his body on throws to second. Some stiffness to arm action; 70 mph catcher velocity. Also posted a 7.71 60 yard dash.
5/20/18 - Listed 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame. Plays with energy and loves to catch. Showed the same quick transfer we have seen from him in the past, turning in a best pop time of 2.09 with 69 mph velocity. Can almost try to get rid of the ball too quickly at times as he doesn’t always gain ground and the arm action can get extremely short. Offensively, hits from wide setup with virtually no stride. Some stiffness in swing/setup. Can get tall and out over front side in swing. 76 mph exit velocity not indicative of present strength level. Could drive ball with more authority by staying in his legs and creating more separation.
5/19/18 - Shows a very quick transfer behind the plate and is an accurate thrower, posting a best pop time of 2.07 without elite arm strength. His energy and willingness to work stand out.
12/27/17 - 6-foot, 160-pound frame. Sloped shoulders and some present strength; will need to work to maintain flexibility in body. Quick transfer behind the plate with throwing hand very near the glove. Almost receives two-handed at times. 2.18 best pop time with 68 mph velocity behind the plate. Hits from square balanced setup with very short stride, creating a somewhat narrow base. Lower half works well in swing; weight tends to get out over his front side. 76 mph exit velocity doesn’t match the generally hard contact he made during BP. 7.59 60-yard dash.
