1/27/19 – 6’ 185-pound frame with room for weight. Starts slightly open with hands just above shoulder. Small load into back side, keeping hands loaded while striding forward. Balance through swing and finish. One handed finish over back shoulder. Hard contact to pull side. Effortless bat speed at 90 MPH. Does a good job timing left foot working through the baseball. Uses momentum well for good hops and throws across the infield. Arm strength was at 81 MPH across the diamond.
Intriguing on the mound. Up to 86 MPH with some arm side life from an easy, clean arm action. Arm works well from a ¾ slot. Works down in the zone. Velo will improve as mobility increases, allowing him to work over his front leg more. Breaking ball was at 73 with 11-5 break.
6/5/18 - 6-foot, 180-pound frame with present strength. Hit from a balanced, slightly open stance. Staiger impress with his ability to generate bat speed with limited movement and a compact stroke. Swing is flat through the zone that produces consistent line drive contact; 88 mph exit velocity. Projects as a third baseman or possibly second baseman at the next level. Showed solid hands and kept feet moving through the ball into throws; 80 mph infield velocity. Posted a 7.37 60 yard dash.
3/15/18 - Impressive physical presence for a sophomore with solid present strength. Played second base on this day, but likely projects best to third if he continues to add mass to his frame. Shows plenty of arm to play on the left side. Showed ability to drive the baseball with authority, smoking a double off the wall with the type of strength you don't often see from sophomores. 4.68 on turn.
1/28/18 - 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with present strength. Impressive sophomore prospect showed well in first PBR event. Hits from balanced, athletic setup with short stride and easy rhythm. Uses short hand load and fires lower half and hands at same time without great separation. Will likely show even more power with better sequencing. Made hard line drive contact to the middle of the field during his round of BP with very little effort/violence in swing; 90 mph exit velocity. Moves comfortably on defense, with a longer windup to get rid of the baseball; 81 mph infield velo with solid carry. Likely profiles best to 3B at the next level where his bat should play. Posted 7.34 60-yard dash.
