Presley Nichols: OF/RHP, (2023) Van Buren, AR. 6-foot-2, 180-pound mature solid frame. Athletic fluid at the plate, Nichols best exit velocity was 95 mph. (69.74 mph bat speed average). (21.63 mph hand speed average). Began in an athletic open stance with a quick compact load, then used a short controlled stride. Bat speed is above average efficient, uses a simple short swing plane and good extension on his balanced finish. Found lots of barrels with tons of loud contact. Gap to gap line drive approach. Above average solid from the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 86 mph; has sure consistent hands, a quick natural exchange, and fluid in control feet. Fields the ball one hand to the side, movements laterally were athletic quick. Used a consistent compact arm action with athletic slot while showing consistent accuracy to the base. Clocked a time of 7.17 in the 60-yard dash. Projectable athletic on the mound, showed quick consistent arm speed with a high ¾ arm angle and a clean compact arm action. Threw his fastball 82-85 mph; showed deceiving tight action and command both sides of the plate down in the zone with straight movement. (Max spin 2129; Avg 2063). Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a short stride. Bat speed was quick, displayed a short flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found lots of barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Fluid during batting practice, Nichols best exit velocity was 94 mph. Solid in the outfield, his best throws to the infield topped out at 83 mph; had consistent rhythmic footwork, sure soft hands, and a quick natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Had a high ¾ slot and a long arm action with consistent accuracy to the base. Projectable on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle and a long arm action while showing quick arm speed. Feel type pitcher and uses easy effort. He has even shoulders with an athletic balance point.
