Cade Costello: RHP/OF, (2023) Fayetteville, AR. 5-foot-11, 160-pound long lean frame. Fluid during batting practice, Costello's best exit velocity was 88 mph. (65.4 mph bat speed average). (19.7 mph hand speed average). Began in a tall narrow stance with a smooth compact load, then used a controlled closed stride. Bat speed is average efficient, exhibits a short uphill swing plane and good extension on his high finish. Found some barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap base hit approach. Solid from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 83 mph; has average rhythmic feet, consistent sure hands, and a fluid natural exchange. Fields the ball out front one hand, movements laterally were average. Showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a quick consistent arm action and a high ¾ slot. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.4. Projectable on the mound, showed a ¾ arm angle and a long loose arm action with quick arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher and uses some effort. In his delivery his balance point is tall with in line shoulders. Lands square with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 77-79 mph; had a heavy fastball that showed slight sinking action and command arm side in the zone. (Max spin 2110; Avg 2042). Has around the zone both sides of the plate control and fading action on his changeup (74-74). Threw a 10/4 tight slider (70-73) that showed tight late action and glove side control.
