Hit: RHH. Open stance, short quick swing. Compact, short approach with the ability to hit to all fields. 71.2 mph bat speed with 11 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 78 mph. 307' max distance.
Arm: LH. OF-82 mph. Shorter, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Athletic working through the ball. Clean defensive actions.
ATH: 7.01 runner in the 60. 1.71 and 3.95 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-1, 200-pounds. Strong, athletic frame with twitch.
Hit: RHH. Athletic, balanced setup, quick & controlled leg kick. Strong top-hand, changes planes, pop to pull-side, hard line drives during his round, twitch in hands.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 80.3 mph. 356’ max distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 81 mph. Loose arm action, 3/4 slot, arm flashed some carry.
Defense: Really athletic and shows easy range to both sides, works through the ball very well.
Run: 6.89 runner in the 60. Athletic runner.
6-foot-1, 192-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, Brooks recorded an exit velocity of 93 mph. Started in a balanced athletic stance with a compact load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed was quick, and showed upward swing plane. He Barreled up multiple balls with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. From the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 79 mph; has fluid feet, and sure hands. Used a consistent arm action with a high ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.82. On the mound, uses a ¾ arm angle with a quick arm action. Showed some effort in his delivery. Shows an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 78-80 mph; shows consistent control with straight movement. Throws a 11/5 curveball (71-72) that shows low in the zone command. His changeup (63-64) shows running action and arm side command. Impressive combination of strength and athleticism.
Young ‘24 that showed clean actions on the mound and was consistently around the zone with all three pitches. The fastball was mid 70’s (topped at 76 mph) and showed some late “cut”. The breaking ball showed tight spin and had more slider action and the change up showed very nice deception. Really like this ‘24 on the bump. Brooks is a very good runner (4.06 H-1B) and also shows nice power off the barrel for his age (84 mph exit velo off the tee). The arm strength is very nice as he was 84 mph from the OF with solid athletic actions. At the plate, the switch hitting outfielder started with a slightly open stance on both sides of the plate and utilized a small leg kick to generate pop. Looked more natural as a LH hitter but was advanced with his approach, doing a nice job of staying inside the ball and consistently produced line drives. Watching him it’s easy to forget he is just a ‘24 grad with the tools he possesses.
