C Ellis Yohn (2021, UT-Martin) led the way offensively in a 14-1 mercy rule victory for the Panthers. Yohn put together a loud stat line hitting in the middle of the order, driving in five runs in the contest. In his second at-bat with the bases loaded, Yohn jumped on the first pitch he saw against a newly-entered reliever and smacked it over the LF wall for a grand slam. Up in his next at-bat, Yohn showed that he wasn’t done doing damage at the plate. The former Future Gamer caught an elevated fastball on the outer-half of the plate and sent a deep fly ball to right field that just kept carrying, and carrying, and carrying, until it was over the fence. Notching his second home run of the day, Yohn finished going 2-3, 2 HR’s & 5 RBI’s.

This ‘21 prospect shows some nice actions behind the plate and is a powerful young player that can easily play the OF as well. Although he did not pitch at this event, he can be a big time RHP as well. Low 2.0’s all day behind the plate and really showed legit arm strength (81 mph). Really explosive hands at the plate which resulted in big tie juice off the barrel. Showed a very simple load with nice gap to gap juice. Hard a loud 1B to right in game play. Can be a big time player in the ‘21 class.
