This was, by far, the best we had ever seen Willingham on the mound as the fastball was up to 86 mph from a high ¾ arm slot. The pitch gets downhill quickly and he also mixed in a 12/6 breaking ball that showed nice downward tilt. The change up showed tumble away from RH hitters and was a very nice pitch with very high spin rates. Nice LHP in the ‘20 class. Showed nice strength in the hands with plus bat speed as he was 95 mph exit velocity off the tee. Slightly open stance with the feet for the switch hitter on both sides that looks a bit more natural from the right side. There is definite tilt in the swing plane and stays through the zone nicely with the barrel. Creates some violence with the hands. Showed nice arm strength during OF work, throwing 83 mph with consistency on the throws.

2020 Dawson Winningham outfield/left-handed pitcher 5-foot-11, 180-pounds. His posted a respectable 7.26/60-yard time and shows solid actions in the outfield. In the box Winningham is dangerous from both sides of the plate. With the ability to elevate from the left side with some power and staying through the zone more from the right. Shows bat-speed, feel and actions from both sides of the plate while posting an 89-Exit Velocity
On the mound Winningham executes and repeats a simple side step delivery. He works against a good front side and has good direction to the plate. His fastball flashes angle at 80-82, and is complemented by a softer breaking ball that he has feel for the zone with at 62-65. Winningham’s changeup is in play and shows quality late depth.

Winningham has added some strength and good size since we last saw him. On the mound, the LHP worked from high ¾ slot with a clean arm. There was late sink on the FB that was up to 83 mph and he located this pitch down in the zone. The FB seemed “heavy”. Clean work defensively with feel for the position with a quick transfer and nice footwork. The arm strength has greatly improved and was up to 83 mph from the OF. Showed a middle of the field approach during BP with some tilt in his bat path. The hands work and are explosive through the hitting zone. A ‘20 grad that showed significant improvement from previous events.
10.14.18- Showed a live arm with his hands set high out of the stretch and did a good job of driving off of the mound and incorporating his lower half into his delivery. The fastball showed true run at 79-82 and was a swing and miss pitch vs. RH hitters. The breaking ball is a work in progress in the low to mid 60’s but showed tight spin at times. Attacked hitters early in the count with the fastball
10.14.18- showed athleticism in the OF with quick twitch actions and a quick transfer. Showed good arm strength (82 mph OF velocity) as the ball really took off out of his hand. Offensively, he has an open stance but does a good job of getting his land foot square before the swing happens. Nice short swing as the hands and barrel stay inside the ball with a bit of tilt in his swing plane. Fouled off at least 5 pitches after being down 2 strikes in his 1st AB and had a 2B down the RF in his second AB.
