There are some quality senior arms that are still on the board as the high school season gets closer. A few of these arms are also quality position players as well. Let’s take a look at a few of those uncommitted arms:

Luke Daniel (2020, RHP, Wilson) Daniel is a physical presence (6’4 230 lbs.) on the mound that looks to be completely healthy for his senior season. When healthy, he has been dominant with nice down plane on his fastball in the upper 80’s. The breaking ball is a power slider with tight spin from a slight ¾ arm slot. There should be plenty of college coaches checking in on him during the upcoming season.

Zack Henderson (2020, RHP/3B, Russell County) Henderson doubles as a RHP and a corner IF’er that has solid upside at both positions. Offensively, he shows the ability to drive balls to the gaps and has strength in his lower half. On the mound, he is not afraid to attack hitters with his fastball that features some late sink to it. Over a year ago at an event, he was 81-82 T83 but looks to be 100% healthy on the mound this year.

 

Mailon Reese (2020, RHP/OF, Lee Scott Academy) The senior brings a ton to the field as both an OF and a RHP. The arm strength at both spots jumps out as he was 92 mph from the outfield at a PBR event and his fastball was up to 91 mph at a summer PBR Tournament at LakePoint. Couple the fastball with a very sharp breaking ball and this bodes well for him on the mound in the future. He is also a nice runner as he has been as low as 6.81 at an event and shows nice power to the pull side at the plate.

 

 

Wesley Sparks (2020, RHP, Oxford) A senior that has confidence in all three pitches in his arsenal. Fastball was consistently 79-81 mph that was located effectively for strikes, but has recently seen a distinct jump in velocity. Showed some late ASR to it as well. His breaking ball gave hitters trouble being able to pick it up out of the hand at 69-70 mph. Late break and tight spin. Changeup is a quality secondary pitch at 70-72 mph that shows some cut to it. All three are thrown for strikes.

Dawson Winningham (2020, LHP/OF, Oxford) A LHP that also doubles an OF and could be a two way type guy. We really like him on the mound. He executes and repeats a very simple delivery. Works against a good front side and has nice direction to the plate. The fastball flashes nice angle up to 83 mph with ASR and is complemented by a softer breaking ball that he shows command for in the zone. The changeup is in play and shows quality late depth.
