'22 SS Caleb Johnson checks a ton of boxes that college coaches are looking for. The switch hitting shortstop can definitely stay on the left side of the infield in the future as the arm strength is already there and the athleticism jumps out quickly as he showed solid lateral range. The bat is another checked box for Johnson as he exhibits solid barrel control and does a nice job staying gap to gap with his approach. Handled a pitch on the outer half and served it into left for a knock versus Russell County. One of the better uncommitted MIF’s in the 2022 class in the state.

Maybe no one impressed with the glove more than this guy on the day. Was always in position to field the big hop and the glove action is as solid as we’ve seen. Did a very nice job resetting his for the throw. Switch hitter who started with an open stance from both sides of the plate and I used a high leg kick yo create juice. Showed some tilt in the swing plane and is a definite 2022 to follow in the next few years
