11/5/17 - Max FB: 82, FB: 79-81, CH: 71-75, SL: 71-75
6-foot-3, 180-pound, LHP showed an added SL w/ a couple extra ticks of velo since last month. Prototypical pitcher frame w/ high waist, long limbs, some present strength, lot of projection. Pitches from a full wind-up w/ short rocker step into 3rd base side of rubber. Leg kick into hip drive and H ¾ release. Quick arm w/ some head violence. Occasionally drifts down the rubber instead of driving w/ his back leg. Long arm action in back, but consistently on time. FB shows occasional arm-side run, mostly straight. SL shows ¾ tilt w/ late bite. Projects as a swing and miss pitch w/ more reps. CH w/ arm-speed, a little sink. Occasionally too firm. Much better at 71-72 then 75. Developing consistent feel for the strike zone, projects to fill the zone.
10/1/17 - Max FB: 80, FB: 77-78, CB: 65-67, CH: 70-73
6'3", 180-pound, LHP shows intriguing 3 pitch mix w/ projection. Tall, athletic frame w/ present lower half strength, projection. Prototypical pitcher build. Pitches from a full wind-up w/ rocker step into middle of the rubber. Balance point into leg drive and ¾ release. High effort throw w/ deception. Glove side can be stronger to maintain direction. FB shows occasional ASR, occasionally straight. ¾ breaking ball is slurve w/ avg depth. Got around it on this day. CH flashes above average w/ arm-speed, fade and sink.
