Flewelling

Flewelling was one of the main attractions in the box during the Best of the West and he continued to show why, performing at a high level all week. The physical 6-foot-2, 200-pound catcher has added significant size to his frame, which helped him back-spin baseballs to all parts of the field, came up in a couple big AB’s this weekend and delivered. Behind the dish, he showed advanced catch and throw with a 1.90 in-game pop-time. Flewelling has really inserted himself as one of the top prospects here in 2024 and will be one to watch as we inch closer to the MLB Draft.

Flewelling continues to hit wherever he goes, this time it was on the Langley Blaze Pro Tour against quality arms. The 2024/25 C drove the ball hard all week, with 4 extra base hits, 2 of which were triples, and had multiple hard line drive outs against MiLB arms. He works gap-to-gap, getting on time with harder velocity. Flewelling has been up to a 108 mph exit velocity at the St. Joseph's Scout Day and is one of the top players in the country.

As one of the top players in the country, Flewelling continues to impress everytime we see him. Behind the dish he has a strong arm and quick transfer, having a POP time of 1.83 and catcher velocity of 82 mph. He also moves well behind the dish, utilizing his athleticism. In the box is where the Gonzaga commit really shines. The LHH shows present strength and maintains controlled aggression and drives the ball back up the middle with authority. He reached a max exit velocity of 108.1 mph and had 6 balls hit over 102 mph. The Canadian JNT member is going to have an immediate impact wherever he steps on the field this summer.

The Gonzaga commit had one the best weekends of anyone at the Scout Day. It started at the plate during BP, his quick hands and simple load led to elevating the ball back up the middle, working up to a 99.2 mph exit velocity. In game play, he had multiple base hits that were pulled hard through the right side, including a double down the RF line. His defense also stood out in-game, throwing out 3 base runners showing off his strong arm and quick transfer. The LHH catcher is one the best back stops in the 2025 class in the country.

Flewelling is a young, talented 2025 Gonzaga commit. Behind the dish he shows maturity and a level of comfort not often seen by players his age. Flewelling boasts a POP time of 1.78-1.98 with the ball coming out of his hand at 80 MPH. The talent doesn’t stop there, on the offensive side of the game Flewelling shines, launching baseballs consistently at 88 MPH with a top exit velocity of 97 MPH. Flewelling is a player that dominates on both sides of the ball, watch for him to make noise throughout the summer.

Flewelling (Gonzaga commit) was one of the main attractions on the positional side of the event and had all of his tools on display. Proportionate frame with some strength at 6-foot-1, 190-pounds and started his day by running a respectable 7.05 60-yard dash. Was the top defensive catcher at the event with quick actions behind the dish and impressive pop-times ranging from 1.78-1.94.

While it wasn’t the most consistent round of BP we’ve seen from Flewelling, he no doubt flashed what he’s capable of. Left-handed hitter and the ball jumps off the bat when he finds the barrel and is timed up. Top exit velocity of 94.5mph and top distance 359ft. Flashed some athleticism on the Swift EZE Jump, as well, with a 32.8in. vertical. Maturity throughout his game and one of the top 2025 catchers in the country.
