Weekend Preview: Appalachian Aces travel to face Salem University this Saturday
September 27, 2018
The Appalachian Aces will travel to take on Salem University this Saturday for (2) seven inning games. Due to their field being under renovation, the games will be played at Robert C Byrd High School in Clarksburg.
The Tigers are led by their Head Coach, Addison Rouse, who is beginning his third season at the helm. Rouse joined Salem after a three-year stint as the head coach at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts, leading the Lions to a 43-64 overall record, several of his players were named All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and Jeremy Wagner was named the 2016 CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
"This will be another great test for our guys. Addison is building a really strong program at Salem. He is a great baseball mind, and they have had year over year continued success since he has taken over. Along with coach Rouse, coach Gyorkos is a tremendous asset to their program. As long as those two are leading the way, they will see much more success." said Aces Head Coach Josh Kuykendall.
Salem is looking to build off a school best .542 win percentage in 2017.
First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
